I’ve given a link to a video in which Ken Robinson is talking about people having a career in which they are in their element. He is entertaining in covering this important topic: http://youtu.be/3TAqSBMZDY8. Although it is supporting a book he’s written, the video content is very pertinent. Here are some quotes from it:
“we flourish under certain conditions, and wilt in other conditions”
“being good at something is not a good enough reason to do it”
“people are in their element when … they’re doing something that they have a natural capacity for … and also they have to love it”
“human talent is often buried deep”
and so much more where the quotes would be too long.
And, needless to say, it supports my views!
